Dortmund scouting two talented young forwards in light of Haaland speculation
Speculation regarding the transfer of Erling Haaland away from Signal Iduna Park lingers on, even in the midst of the current European Super League fiasco.
The high-profile Norwegian sensation has been racking up records and goals almost every other match week and reports from Germany indicate that several top European clubs are hungry to get him on board at the end of the current Bundesliga season.
According to reports, Borussia Dortmund are already preparing to sign his replacement – with two top young forward talents being scouted by Die Schwarzgelben.
Dortmund have set their sights on two talents, one from Ligue 1 & another from Eredivisie.
Dutch youngster Donyell Malen is one of the two. The versatile PSV Eindhoven forward/winger has been in immaculate form for the South Holland club, racking up 25 goals and 9 assists already this season in 41 appearances. Along with the Black & Yellows, Liverpool are also reportedly interested in signing Malen at the end of the season.
FC Lorient’s Nigerian striker Terem Moffi is the other target who has got the attention of the club. While not as versatile as Malen, Moffi is a strong traditional No.9 whose main aim lies in scoring goals. He has scored 13 in 31 appearances for Lorient this season.
However, 21-year-old Moffi would be easier to lure in with his €8m market value, as opposed to 22-year-old Malen’s €30m price.
But, with Haaland being one of the world’s most expensive players to sign at the moment, shelling out cash for an incoming transfer is the least of Dortmund’s concerns.
