According to transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Bayern Munich have targeted RB Leipzig’s Lois Openda as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.

The German champions were close to signing Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson on loan, but the Blues reportedly changed their minds, wanting to keep the striker to cover for Liam Delap’s injury.

Apparently, Openda has now been identified as an alternative, with Bayern considering a loan deal that could include an option or obligation to buy.

Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl knows Openda from his time at Leipzig, while head coach Vincent Kompany, a fellow Belgian, is also well aware of the striker’s qualities.
