St. Pauli captain Jackson Irvine will be sidelined until further notice, the Bundesliga club confirmed on Tuesday.

Scans revealed a stress reaction in Irvine's left foot, a condition that has caused discomfort following the 2-1 victory over Holstein Kiel last weekend.

Local media reports suggest that Irvine will definitely miss Sunday's clash with Bayer Leverkusen, and in the worst-case scenario, he could be out for several weeks.

Elias Saad (knee), Johannes Eggestein (ankle), and Noah Weißhaupt (illness) were also absent from Tuesday's training session.

Currently, St. Pauli sit 15th in the Bundesliga, seven points clear of the relegation zone.
