Despite talks of an imminent exit from 1.FC Köln, club president Jörn Stobbe announced that further talks will be held with Said El Mala.

“Of course, we will make him an offer with our support network – not just financial, but also in other areas,” he told podcast L'Immo.

Alongside Stobbe's comments, Geissblog reports that Köln are not dependent on selling their star player this summer.

El Mala still has a contract with Effzeh until 2030 and said contract does not contain a release clause, which is why Stobbe maintains:

“He has a long-term contract. We'd be crazy to let such a great player leave prematurely,” the club chief acknowledged.

The door still seems to be slightly ajar for the Bundesliga club, though Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea are both pursuing a transfer.

FC Köln are demanding around €50 million for the left winger, who has eleven goals and four assists this season.
