The 6-cap German international could be the latest name on the chopping block at the Rhineland club.

Having been left on the bench for their 3-2 DfB Pokal win over Atlas Delmenhorst, Julian Weigl's future is unclear at Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The 29-year-old is no longer even on the team council this season and his lack of involvement could cause the midfield strategist to flee.

As the Saudi sports newspaper 'Okaz Sports' reports, Weigl, who is still under contract until 2028, is in negotiations with Al Shabab FC.

The former Borussia Dortmund player is one of the top earners in Gladbach, so the Bundesliga club could likely welcome a departure.

Furthermore, there are plenty of alternatives in his position in Rocco Reitz, Philipp Sander, Jens Castrop and the highly rated Oscar Fraulo.
