Silvan Hefti is expected to leave Hamburger SV this winter according to local news source Hamburger Abendblatt.

Based on journalist Steven Goff's report, the right-back is close to completing a transfer to DC United in MLS.

Under coach Merlin Polzin, Hefti has played no role this season – the Swiss international has yet to make an appearance for the first team.

He has only played once for HSV's reserve team in the Regionalliga Nord and his contract with the club expires in the summer of 2028.

The report states “HSV will receive a small transfer fee, which will be reinvested in Hefti's severance package to compensate for his lower salary in the USA".

Last season, Hefti played 19 games in the second division, offering goal and an assist as HSV earned promotion to the Bundesliga.
