Bayern Munich are at risk of losing one of their most important defenders on a free transfer this summer.

According to Marca, Dayot Upamecano has expressed his desire to join Real Madrid when his contract expires in 2026.

The report suggests that the French defender has told his agent that a move to the La Liga giants is currently his main career goal.

Bayern have been in talks with Upamecano for some time about a potential new deal, but have so far been unable to reach an agreement with him.

The Frenchman recently left his future completely open.

“I feel comfortable here and am happy to work with a very good coach and great players,” Upamecano told Bild after Bayern’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea last week.

“My agent is talking with the people in charge at Bayern. The talks are ongoing. There’s nothing more to say. We’ll see what happens.”
