After fears of an injury crisis emerged for Borussia Dortmund this afternoon, August 19, concerns have been lifted by the latest update.

Sky Germany's Patrick Berger and Marlon Irlbacher have given Yan Couto the all clear after his hefty knock against Rot-Weiss Essen.

The report suggests that the Brazilian's cruciate ligament is not affected and there is no structural damage in his right knee.

Fellow right-back Julian Ryerson was also labeled a doubt after he missed out on the first round DfB-Pokal match witch a calf issue.

However, it appears that both Couto and Ryerson could be in the squad for BVB's Bundesliga opener against St.Pauli on Saturday.

If that were to be the case, Niko Kovač's defence would likely be similar to the backline that guided them to a 1-0 win over Essen.
