Lovro Majer is set to join AEK Athens from VfL Wolfsburg, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The journalist reported the deal will be completed for a transfer fee of over €6 million.
Majer has a contract until 2028 with Wolfsburg, despite the former champions dealing with a first-ever relegation to 2. Bundesliga. Romano reported the Croatian international will travel to Greece this week for medical tests and a signature.
Majer scored ten goals in 75 appearances in all competitions since his move from Rennes a couple of years ago. Including Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig, several clubs were linked with the 28-year-old after Wolfsburg’s relegation was confirmed with a playoff defeat to Paderborn.
