Werder Bremen are discussing a possible move for Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface, according to local media outlet Deichstube.

The Green-Whites are in need of a new striker, and Boniface has been offered to them as he looks to leave Leverkusen, the report claims.

At present, a deal for the Nigerian forward appears unlikely, though it has not been completely ruled out. If it were to happen, it would likely be a one-year loan without an option to buy.

Boniface previously came close to joining AC Milan, but the transfer fell through after the Italian club raised concerns following his medical.

Meanwhile, Werder continue to pursue other targets, including Simon Banza (SC Braga) and Taiwo Awoniyi (Nottingham Forest).
