RC Strasbourg are stepping up their efforts to sign Werder Bremen youngster Karim Coulibaly.

According to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, Strasbourg have submitted two bids for the 19-year-old, but Werder have rejected both proposals. Nevertheless, negotiations are continuing, with the French side expected to return with a third offer in the near future.

Strasbourg's interest comes as part of the wider BlueCo project, which also includes Premier League giants Chelsea.

BlueCo reportedly view Coulibaly as a potential future Chelsea defender, making the highly-rated teenager an attractive target for the group. A move to Strasbourg could therefore represent an important step in the defender's development before potentially making the jump to Stamford Bridge.

Coulibaly has also recently changed his representation, with Roc Nation Sports now representing the Werder Bremen youngster.

For Werder, the situation represents another test of their ability to retain one of their promising young talents. With Strasbourg pushing strongly and negotiations progressing, Coulibaly's future could be one to watch closely in the coming days.
