Kasper Hjulmand's Bayer Leverkusen aim to return to winning ways at the Millerntor-Stadion following a couple of draws. On the other side, Alexander Blessin's side will hope to record another shock result after their opening day 3-3 draw with Borussia Dortmund.

The hosts are still missing their captain Jackson Irvine as he's yet to feature this season due to muscular issues. Robert Andrich and Equi Fernándes are available for Leverkusen after serving their one-match ban for red cards in Hjulmand's league debut with the club.

Leverkusen's newly-appointed captain is straight back into the starting lineup. Nathan Tella was the “Man of the Match” in that win over Eintracht Frankfurt, but he's been sidelined since then with a knee injury.
