For many weeks now, Borussia Dortmund captain Emre Can has been struggling with groin problems, which also forced him to miss the Club World Cup.

Working on his comeback, the 31-year-old is still doing individual training, and it remains unclear when he will be able to return to full team sessions.

According to Bild, it’s currently uncertain whether Can will be ready to feature when Borussia Dortmund kick off their preparations for the new season on July 26.

The former Liverpool player made 45 appearances for BVB in all competitions last season and has just one year left on his contract with the club.
