Manuel Neuer has already confirmed that he has played his last game for Germany following Monday's disappointing World Cup exit to Paraguay.

However, the 40-year-old Bayern Munich veteran is unlikely to be the only player bidding farewell to the national team, with Germany expected to undergo a significant rebuild after yet another disappointing tournament.

Sport1 speculates that Antonio Rüdiger, Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sané, Pascal Groß and Oliver Baumann have no future with the German national team.

Rüdiger, 33, cast doubt on his international future after the defeat, saying he would use his holiday to reflect on whether to continue representing his country.

Goretzka, 31, whose Bayern Munich contract has expired, is considered likely to have played his last game for Germany as well, alongside the much-criticised Sané, 30, with both widely seen as having peaked.

Veterans Pascal Groß (35) and Oliver Baumann (36) are also unlikely to be part of Germany’s new-look squad moving forward.
