J1 League defensive midfielder set for Gladbach medical

Kicker report Shimizu S-Pulse’s captain Zento Uno is set for his Borussia Mönchengladbach medical ahead of completing his transfer for around €500,000. The 22-year-old is expected to sign a contract until 2030.
The defensive midfielder is already in Mönchengladbach for the medical check. There were injury concerns over the two-time Japanese international, but reports now emerge that it’s not a serious one to affect the transfer from materializing.
Uno won Japan's second division with two clubs before making his J1 League debut in the 2024/25 season. He was the captain of Shimizu S-Pulse in the J1 100 Year Vision League tournament organized by the Japan Professional Football League. He played twice for Japan’s national team in the East Asian Football Championship.
