With new Borussia Dortmund signing Giannis Konstantelias ruled out for several months with an ACL tear, the Black and Yellows could move to sign a replacement before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.

Newcastle United forward Nick Woltemade has been mentioned as one option, but an alternative could be Jadon Sancho, who starred for the club between 2017 and 2021 and is available as a free agent after leaving Manchester United.

Both Bild and Sky Germany have published articles speculating about whether BVB could make a move for the 26-year-old attacker, who previously returned to Dortmund on a six-month loan in 2024.

According to Bild, a return could actually happen if Sancho is willing to waive a signing-on fee and accept a heavily performance-based contract,. Sky, meanwhile, considers a comeback rather unlikely.

Borussia Dortmund CEO Carsten Cramer recently praised Sancho, saying:

“There is hardly a name that excites the people of Dortmund more than Jadon – that’s simply the way it is. That has been the case throughout the entire summer break. Jadon also hasn’t done anything wrong; he is an impeccable young man.”
