Jürgen Klopp has selected a total of 44 players and divided them into two squads for Germany's upcoming four UEFA Nations League fixtures.

One notable absentee was Club Brugge and Germany U21 forward Nicolo Tresoldi, who is also eligible to represent Italy.

Speaking at a press conference after announcing his selection, Klopp stressed that Tresoldi's absence shouldn't be taken as an indication that he has chosen Italy, with the forward yet to make a decision on his international future.

“The fact that he isn’t in the squad here doesn’t mean that he has decided against Germany. Or against Italy,” Klopp stated.

“We don’t want to put any pressure on the boys at all. None whatsoever.”

Tresoldi has scored 12 goals in 24 appearances for Germany's U21 national team.
