Michael Olise has made an excellent start to life at Bayern Munich following his £53 million move from Crystal Palace in the summer.

Apparently, the Frenchman could have arrived in the Bundesliga much earlier, as Eintracht Frankfurt were interested in signing him from Reading in 2021.

"We looked at him about three years ago," Eintracht board member for sport Markus Krösche confirmed in an interview with Sky Germany.

However, at the time, Olise had a release clause of €8-9 million and Eintracht didn't have the funds to activate it.

"We didn't have the money to pay that at the time," Krösche said.

Olise eventually joined Crystal Palace in the summer of 2021, and the move to Bayern followed three years later.
