Leverkusen expect Liverpool to complete Wirtz transfer next week

Liverpool could announce the transfer of Florian Wirtz next week.

According to multiple reports, Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen have reached a total agreement for the signing of Florian Wirtz. Sky’s Florian Plettenberg now reports that the Bundesliga club expects Liverpool to complete the deal when the transfer window reopened at the start of next week.

After taking part in the final stage of the UEFA Nations League, Wirtz is currently on holiday. Since the Premier League champions don’t take part in the upcoming Club World Cup, the clubs weren’t in a hurry to complete the deal in the special window between June 1st and June 10th.

The transfer could become the third most-expensive in the world as it’s expected to reach €150 million, including bonuses.
