Sebastian Hoeness on Hoffenheim's draw with Bayern: "We almost won"

"We were lucky that Bayern didn't score after the break, but remained dangerous and almost won," said Hoffenheim coach Sebastian Hoeness after his side's draw with the reigning champions.
Reigning German champions Bayern München were held to a 1-1 draw by Hoffenheim earlier today in an entertaining game at Rhein-Neckar-Arena.

Hoffenheim coach Sebastian Hoeness even felt that his team could have won the game with a bit more luck.

"We had a great chance at the beginning through Andrej Kramaric, but after that we didn't hold on to enough balls. Then it became the game we wanted it to be. We had a couple of good chances before making it 1-0. I was annoyed by the equaliser because we should have defended better before the goal," Hoeness told reporters.

"We were lucky that Bayern didn't score after the break, but remained dangerous and almost won. The lucky punch failed to materialize, but we mustered all our courage and gave the fans a spectacle," added the former Bayern youth and reserves coach.

The draw means Hoffenhem sit fifth in the Bundesliga table, on points with fourth-placed Freiburg.
