Fantasy Bundesliga tips: 10 players to consider for Matchday 27
Here are 10 players you should consider bringing into your Fantasy Bundesliga team for Matchday 27.
In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we will not be focusing on the most obvious picks such as Erling Haaland, Christopher Nkunku and Robert Lewandowski.
Instead, we will highlight players with a maximum ownership percentage of 15%, who could offer great value as differentials for Matchday 27.
Since there will be an international break and unlimited transfer period after this matchday, there is no need to look further ahead than this weekend's games when making your three transfers.
Silvan Widmer, Mainz (Defender, 7.6M, 7%)
Making their return to action after a COVID-19 outbreak, Mainz fell to a narrow 0-1 defeat against Borussia Dortmund in mid-week. 'Die Nullfünfer' will now have an easier match-up at home against an Arminia Bielefeld side, who have lost three successive games without finding the net. Thus, Mainz should have a good chance of getting all three points and a clean sheet. Widmer is nailed on to start at right wing-back and is the fifth highest-scoring defender in the game, having amassed 172 points through the season so far.
Pavel Kaderabek, Hoffenheim (Defender, 9.9M, 1%)
Hoffenheim had won four games in a row before holding reigning champions Bayern to a 1-1 draw last week. Sebastian Hoeness' in-form side now face the league's most out-of-form side, Hertha BSC, who will be hoping to turn things around following the appointment of controversial coaching veteran Felix Magath as new head coach. At the moment, however, it's hard to see how Hertha can get out of their slump, with Hoffenheim being big favorites to win in Berlin. Being a defender who likes to get forward, Kaderabek is likely to have a productive game, and his ownership is just 1 percent.
Ramy Bensebaini, Gladbach (Defender, 10.7M, 3%)
Coming back from suspension, Bensebaini should be back on your radar this week. The Algerian international is expected to play as a wing-back, is on penalties, has a high ceiling and offers good flexibility as he plays on Friday evening, at which point Gladbach's starting line-up will be revealed around an hour before the transfer deadline. Should they start, you could also consider his cheaper teammates Joe Scally (2.1M) and Luca Netz (4.5M), who scored 13 and 15 points respectively last week.
Borna Sosa, Stuttgart (Defender, 11.4M, 9%)
Sosa has returned to form in recent games, taking 24 points from his last two outings, providing an assist in each one. With Stuttgart locking horns with fellow relegation candidates Augsburg at home this weekend, the Croatian left-back is one of the most attractive defensive options.
Chris Führich, Stuttgart (Midfielder, 6M, 0%)
After his instrumental performance in Stuttgart's 3-2 win over Gladbach, Führich didn't have his best game in last week's 1-1 draw with Union Berlin. Nevertheless, being one of Stuttgart's most important attacking players, he offers a lot of potential this week at a price of just 6 million.
Christoph Baumgartner, Hoffenheim (Midfielder, 12.7M, 2%)
Baumgartner showed how much of a game changer he can be when he bagged a brace against Stuttgart on Matchday 24, earning his side a 2-1 comeback win. If he's on his game, the attacking midfielder could have a similar impact against Hertha.
Vincenzo Grifo, Freiburg (Midfielder, 16.4M, 8%)
Coming off a brace against Wolfsburg and with a game against bottom-placed Greuther Fürth coming up, bringing in Grifo is probably the most logical transfer you can make this week.
Ermedin Demirovic, Freiburg (Striker, 9.5M, 0%)
Predicting Freiburg's starting eleven can be quite difficult, especially up front, with the likes of Ermedin Demirovic, Nils Petersen, Roland Sallai, Jeong Woo-yeong and Kevin Schade rotating in and out of the side. However, Demirovic has started the last two games up top, and with Jeong Woo-yeong still sidelined due to COVID-19, the Bosnian forward is widely being tipped to keep his starting place ahead of Nils Petersen. With an ownership of 0 percent, he could give your team a big boost forward if he runs riot against a Fürth side coming off an 1-6 defeat against RB Leipzig.
Saša Kalajdžić, Stuttgart (Striker, 11.5M, 2%)
Stuttgart have taken four points from their last two games, with Sasa Kalajdzic scoring in each of them. The tall forward will now look to continue his good run of form in his side's relegation six-pointer against Augsburg.
Alassane Pléa, Gladbach (Striker, 15.2M, 2%)
Looking at the last three matchdays, Pléa is the league's most in-form player from a Fantasy perspective, having picked up a whopping 43 points between Matchday 24 and 26. He's now facing a Bochum side, who have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 10 games in all competitions.
