Five years later, the 27-year-old midfielder has now returned to Lyon on a five-year contract.

Tolisso makes the move back to his native France on a free transfer, as his contract with Bayern had expired.

"I am very happy to come back and to be part of the new project of the club. Lyon is my city, it's where I grew up, where I feel good and I'm coming back with great pleasure. I felt a lot of love from the fans and I can't wait to vibrate with them again at Groupama Stadium," commented Tolisso.

The Frenchman made a total of 117 appearances for Bayern with 21 goals and 15 assists to his name.
