Schlotterbeck compliments Freiburg in return match

In an interview with Kicker, BVB defender Nico Schlotterbeck praised the club that built his reputation as one of the best young defenders in world football.
Dortmund's Nico Schlotterbeck and Freiburg manager Christian Streich had an interesting mid-game shouting match after a harsh tackle on Ritsu Doan. But, in a Kicker interview the young defender is clearly still a fan of his former club. Dortmund defeated Freiburg 3-1 on Matchday 2 after a shocking comeback, beginning with Freiburg keeper Mark Flekken's disastrous mistake.

Schlotterbeck believes that, "Flekki is a top 3 goalkeeper in Germany, he can take it." He also added that Freiburg can manage three separate competitions this year: "They can do it because they have a well-coached team and good depth in the squad."

The 22-year-old is an admirer of Freiburg's new Europa-Park Stadion: "It's a witch's cauldron. I didn't understand my own words, but that's what Freiburg is all about because the fan base has grown a lot over the last few years. The away block is often full. I'm happy for the boys, they deserve that."

Schlotterbeck has already impressed at his new club, as he's yet to lose a competitive match in the black and yellow.
