Official: Hrustic switches to Verona
Ajdin Hrustic's transfer to Serie A side Hellas Verona is complete.
Former Schalke 04 youth academy player Ajdin Hrustic has completed his move from Eintracht Frankfurt to Hellas Verona. As reported earlier in the week, the SGE will collect a transfer fee of €500,000 for the Australian international. Eintracht paid €1 million to purchase the midfielder from FC Groningen during the latter states of the autumn 2020 transfer window.
Over the course of two seasons, Hrustic scored three goals in 34 league appearances for his Bundesliga club. The 26-year-old last figured prominently run the starting XI of Frankfurt trainer Oliver Glasner during February of 2022. Hrustic sat on an expiring contract with his German club. His new contract in Italy runs through 2025.
"Hrustic always put himself at the service of the team, especially last season," SGE sporting director Markus Krösche noted in a statement, "he behaved in an exemplary manner despite limited playing time. In the Europa League final, he played his part in winning the title by converting his penalty kick. The transfer is in reponse his request to get regular playing time. We wish him all the best for his future in Italy."
