Speaking at his post-match presser, FCB trainer Thomas Tuchel confirmed that he did not expect the Canadian back in time to face Leverkusen next weekend. Bayern are already without central defender Dayot Upamecano due to injury. South Korean center back Min-Jae Kim - having just progressed to the semi-finals with his country at the AFC Cup - remains out on international duty. Midfielders Konrad Laimer and Joshua Kimmich - both capable of playing right-back - are still on the mend.
Tuchel expressed hope that Upamecano would be able to return in time for the next league encounter, noting that "a decision will be made in the middle of the week". The situation is not necessarily the worst news Bayern could have received. Natural left-back Raphaël Guerreiro can easily take back over for Davies. Moreover, Tuchel has Moroccan right-back Noussair Mazraoui back from AFCON duty in addition to newly signed right-back Sacha Boey. Mazraoui started and played 62 minutes before being relieved by Boey today.
