Neuer and Löw praise Havertz: 'He has taken a few steps forward'

Manuel Neuer and Joachim Löw have lauded praise on Kai Havertz ahead of Germany's game against Estonia on Sunday.
Germany captain Manuel Neuer and head coach Joachim Löw are full of praise for Bayer Leverkusen starlet Kai Havertz ahead of Sunday's Euro 2020 qualifier against Estonia.

"He always performs well when he play for us and will only get even better over the next few years. The future certainly looks bright," Neuer said at the pre-match press conference, as quoted by the German Football Association.

Löw said he was impressed with Havertz's performance in Wednesday's 2-2 draw with Argentina that saw the 20-year-old score his first international goal.

"He has continued to develop with us over the past few months and has taken a few steps forward. He did very well against Argentina. I feel he has improved with us. He's a very promising player who can always give us good impulses," Löw told reporters.

Havertz has made six appearances for Germany so far, scoring once.
