FC Köln youngster Ismail Jakobs has been contacted about the possibility of playing for the Senegalese national team, according to various reports.

The interest is said to be mutual. Jakobs, who was born in Germany, is of Senegalese descent through his father and is aware that choosing to play for the African country would probably give him a better chance of playing time.

Jakobs, who can play at left back and as a left winger, has made nine Bundesliga appearances this season, scoring two goals.

He hasn't played any games at youth international level.
