Pléa double not enough for Gladbach against Inter

Alassane Pléa's brace wasn't enough for Gladbach, who suffered a 2-3 defeat at home to Inter in the Champions League.
Alassane Pléa bagged a brace and had a third goal ruled out for offside after a VAR review as Gladbach lost 2-3 to Inter in the Champions League on Tuesday.

After Matteo Darmian put the guests in front in the 17th minute, Pléa found the equaliser shortly before half-time.

Romelu Lukaku restored Inter's lead with 64 minutes on the clock and made it 3-1 with his second goal nine minutes later.

Pléa then gave Gladbach a glimpse of hope when he pulled one back in the 75th minute, and the French striker found the net again with 83 minutes played, but the goal was ruled out because Breel Embolo was adjudged to be in an offside position.

Despite tonight's defeat, Gladbach remain top of Group B, one point clear of second-placed Shakhtar Donetsk.

Elsewhere, a second-string Bayern München side drew 1-1 with Atletico Madrid in Spain.
