Borussia Dortmund will have to do without Jobe Bellingham for two of their upcoming Bundesliga matches.

The DFB sports court has suspended the midfielder, who received a red card in Sunday's 1-1 draw against SC Freiburg.

Bellingham fouled Freiburg's Philipp Treu after a risky pass from Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel and was sent off by referee Felix Zwayer.

Given that the Englishman was the last man in defence for the Westphalians, it was deemed a denial of a clear goal-scoring opportunity.

Playing with ten men beyond the 53rd-minute, BVB eventually conceded the equalizer – a delightful 74th-minute strike from Lucas Höler.

As a result, the 20-year-old will miss out this Friday against Borussia Mönchengladbach and away to Eintracht Frankfurt after the winter break.
