VfL Bochum have announced that Yiğit Karademir has joined the club on a free transfer from VfL Osnabrück.
The 22-year-old central defender has left the third-division champions signed a contract with the Bochum until 30 June, 2030.
Karademir learned to play football at the age of three in his hometown, at the Lower Saxony club VfL Weiße Elf Nordhorn.
He progressed through all the youth teams there, taking the next step in 2017 to the youth academy of SV Meppen.
The central defender first came into contact with the Ruhr region two years later when he moved to FC Schalke 04.
At VfL Osnabrück, his next club, Karademir received his first professional contract in 2023 and had a one-year loan to SV Meppen.
“Yiğit is a very exciting young center-back with great potential for development," said Simon Zoller, Director of Football at VfL Bochum.
"Despite his age, he already has some experience at the senior level and comes across as extremely thoughtful and clear-headed.
"You can immediately sense that he is ready to do everything he can to take the next steps in his career – exactly the kind of player we need.
We want to embark on this journey with him, striving to improve every day in order to achieve our ambitious goals."
