TSG Hoffenheim confirmed Florian Grillitsch’s move to Sporting Braga on a free transfer. The Austrian midfielder first joined Hoffenheim from Werder Bremen in 2017, and he scored their first-ever Champions League goal in his second season in Sinsheim.

After leaving the club on a free transfer to Ajax in 2022, he rejoined Hoffenheim after an unsuccessful year in Eredivisie. He immediately became the key player at PreZero Arena, but the elegant midfielder lost his place after the arrival of Christian Ilzer.

"Florian (Grillitsch) has made a valuable contribution to TSG for many years, and was part of our greatest sporting moments," said Hoffenheim's sporting director Andreas Schicker.

"I will always have fond memories of my time at TSG Hoffenheim and would like to thank both the club and the staff for the many wonderful years here in Kraichgau," said Grillitsch, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Valladolid.
