Borussia Dortmund advisor Matthias Sammer believes Max Eberl is “not an easy position” amid the latest public comments made by Uli Hoeneß.

In an interview with Prime Video, Sammer said he has been following the Bayern sporting director's work at the club “for some time now”.

“He [Eberl] tries his best, but in my opinion, he often lets things get the better of him. Sometimes I thought: It's okay to growl or explode or even bite back," Sammer said.

Bayern's honorary president, Hoeneß, recently admitted to differences of opinion on transfer issues and accused Eberl of being ‘quite sensitive.’

The Bayern boss later clarified he only wanted to help his fellow sporting director with his strong statements, to which Sammer believes Hoeneß simply “wears his heart on his sleeve”.

“Things [disagreements] have to be clearly named. But it's better not to have any latent unrest, because in the long run that also provides a certain alibi for the players and results,” Sammer added.
