Tah frustrated after defeat: “We didn’t match their energy!”

Following a disappointing loss, Jonathan Tah reflected candidly on his team’s performance, pointing to a lack of intensity after the break as a key factor.

Bayern Munich's Jonathan Tah did not hide his frustration after the defeat against Augsburg, but the defender was quick to shift the focus toward the response rather than the setback itself:

“Losing never feels good. We’re disappointed,” Tah said. “But the most important thing is how we react, how we quickly put it behind us, focus on the next game, and respond on the pitch.”

The centre-back highlighted the turning point of the match in the second half, where his side struggled to keep up with the opposition’s intensity. “In the second half, we didn’t manage to match the energy level our opponents brought to the game,” Tah admitted. “The Augsburg players were ice-cold and rewarded themselves - that’s very frustrating for us.”

Despite accepting the result, Tah made it clear the emotions in the dressing room will be used constructively. “We lost, and we have to accept that,” he said. “We want to channel the anger we’re feeling now into the next game and show our quality and energy again.”
