According to the DeichStube, 1.FC Union Berlin has made inquiries about Werder Bremen veteran Leonardo Bittencourt.

The 32-year-old, whose contract with Werder Bremen expires at the end of the season, has been heavily linked with a move away recently.

It's believed Bittencourt would be open to talks about an extension under the new coach Daniel Thioune, but the club seems to be against it.

Thus, the midfielder's departure of Bittencourt, who initially joined Bremen on loan from TSG Hoffenheim in 2019, is more or less confirmed.

The report also states that in addition to the Köpenick club, sides from the 2. Bundesliga have taken interest in him.

Meanwhile, several teams from the MLS are also interested in the former U-21 international who has apparently received several offers.
