Bayern boss comments on Wirtz links: "If a player like him is available..."

Max Eberl has commented on speculation suggesting that Bayern Munich are keen to sign Florian Wirtz in 2025.

Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl has confirmed that the Bavarians would be interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen prodigy Florian Wirtz, should he become available.

There has been speculation that Wirtz could leave Leverkusen in the summer of 2025. And should the 21-year-old be interested in a move to the Allianz Arena, Bayern would consider stepping up their interest in him, even if his price tag would exceed €100 million.

"Bayern showed last summer with the signing of an absolute top star in Harry Kane that the club can spend such a fee, but not every year," Eberl told Die Welt.

“If a player like Wirtz is available and on the market, we have to consider it. But there's also the possibility that the player rejects the move.”

Wirtz, who is contacted to Bayer Leverkusen until 2027, has scored 18 goals and provided 19 assists in 45 matches this season.
