Fortuna Düsseldorf host Holstein Kiel on Friday with both sides in the relegation fight that could include half of the league, despite only six rounds left to play in the 2. Bundesliga. Both clubs started the season with promotion hopes, but their form has seen them in the bottom half of the standings.

Kiel are currently in the relegation playoff spot with the same number of points as 15th-placed Dynamo Dresden. Their hosts are in 12th place, but they are only two points ahead of Tim Walter’s side.

Kasper Davidsen scored the only goal of the game when the two teams met in the reverse fixture on matchday 12. However, Holstein Kiel’s midfielder will not be available for Friday’s game due to accumulated yellow cards.
