Borussia Dortmund are considering letting go of Karim Adeyemi this summer, with the winger already agreeing terms with FC Barcelona.

Should the 24-year-old speedster depart, that would leave a hole in Dortmund's attacking ranks going into the 2026-27 season.

According to the Cologne-based newspaper The Express, rumors surrounding Dortmund and El Mala are starting intensify again:

The tabloid suggests information within FC Köln suggests “the family may have reached an agreement with Dortmund behind the scenes”.

This aligns with the fact that El Mala's mother, Sabrina, prefers her son to remain in Germany, even advocating for a transfer to Dortmund.

Additionally, BILD writes she recently informed Köln's management that El Mala will not move to England this summer unless it's a top club.

Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg since added that El Mala's family can imagine a move to BVB, but the club have doubts over a deal.

While Fabian Hürzeler wants to make one last attempt with Brighton, the coach is aware that a signing “unlikely” due to El Mala's mother.

As for the Westphalian giants, before they can even consider El Mala, the Adeyemi deal with the La Liga champions must first be finalized.
