After reports on Monday that Bayer Leverkusen had submitted an offer of €25 million plus add-ons for Al Qadsiah midfielder Ezequiel Fernández, the deal is now reportedly nearing completion.
According to Kicker, Bayer 04 are close to finalizing an agreement with the Saudi club for a total fee of €25 million plus €5 million in add-ons.
The 23-year-old is understood to have agreed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga side.
If Fernández joins the BayArena, coach Erik ten Hag would have four midfielders – Exequiel Palacios, Robert Andrich, Aleix García and Fernández – competing for two positions.
Fernández’s arrival could prompt García to leave, with West Ham United reportedly among the Spanish midfielder’s suitors.
Meanwhile, Palacios has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
