After reports on Monday that Bayer Leverkusen had submitted an offer of €25 million plus add-ons for Al Qadsiah midfielder Ezequiel Fernández, the deal is now reportedly nearing completion.

According to Kicker, Bayer 04 are close to finalizing an agreement with the Saudi club for a total fee of €25 million plus €5 million in add-ons.

The 23-year-old is understood to have agreed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga side.

If Fernández joins the BayArena, coach Erik ten Hag would have four midfielders Exequiel Palacios, Robert Andrich, Aleix García and Fernández competing for two positions.

Fernández’s arrival could prompt García to leave, with West Ham United reportedly among the Spanish midfielder’s suitors.

Meanwhile, Palacios has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
