It was widely reported on Wednesday that Bayern Munich had reached a verbal agreement with Vincent Kompany to become their new coach.

The Bavarians are now in negotiations with Burnley over the fee required to buy the former Manchester City defender out of his contract with the relegated Premier League side, which runs until 2028.

According to reports, Burnley are demanding €20 million for Kompany, but Bayern are trying to bring the price down. Bild reports that Bayern's initial offer was €10 million.

However, despite the differences, Bayern are believed to be optimistic about completing the deal.
