What better way to celebrate 100 years of Rote Erde Stadium than with a brand new exclusive jersey?

Borussia Dortmund have announced the launch of an exclusive shirt honoring the stadium where the first team played from 1937 to 1974, and which now serves as the home ground for the club’s second team.

BVB's first team will be the first to wear the new shirt at their home match against Hamburger SV on March 21.

Staying with their long-time sponsor, the jersey is made by BVB’s usual supplier, PUMA.

Bring a piece of the stadium home

From the entrance gates to the running track – the jersey is designed to remind you of the Rote Erde iconic stadium, incorporating key design elements that have been a part of the unique stadium atmosphere since the opening in 1926. To top it all off, the back of the jersey features the inscription “100 Jahre Stadion Rote Erde” (“100 Years of Rote Erde Stadium”).

“Rote Erde Stadium is one of the most defining places for BVB – a piece of home that, over decades, has shown what Borussia Dortmund stands for. With the special jersey, we are capturing the architecture, atmosphere, and history of this stadium and translating them into a contemporary design that visibly connects BVB’s tradition and present,” said Kerstin Zerbe, BVB's merchandising managing director.

A game of fashion

While the players must keep their eye on the ball, you might want to keep an eye on the two teams' jerseys.

Hamburger SV recently released a special-edition jersey that sold out in physical stores immediately. Will the Borussia Dortmund jersey follow the trend?

If you are eager to get you hands on the exclusive jersey, it will be available from March 19 in both BVB fan shops and online.
