Freiburg hope to end a four-game draw streak with a home win over Eredivisie’s eighth-placed side, Utrecht. Julian Schuster’s side is unbeaten in the first two Europa League matches.
Against the team that lost both of their opening fixtures, Schuster recalled Vincenzo Grifo to the starting lineup. The former Italian international scored a direct free-kick to salvage a point for Freiburg in their most recent game against Eintracht Frankfurt. Christian Günter, Yuito Suzuki, and Junior Adamu also returned to the starting XI.
Former Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastian Haller leads the attacking line for the visitors.
