Just before the transfer window closed, 18-year-old striker Jonah Kusi-Asare left Bayern Munich to join Fulham on a loan deal.

According to Sky Germany, however, the plan was initially for the youngster to stay in Munich.

Sky journalist Kerry Hau claims that Kusi-Asare was told in mid-August that all loan offers for him would be rejected, as he was intended to serve as a backup to Harry Kane.

Kusi-Asare was reportedly fine with a substitute role and didn’t want to leave.

However, when Bayern agreed a deal to sign Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea, they changed their mind, and the young Swede was told to find a new club, Sky claims.

According to reports from England, Fulham agreed to pay a €3 million loan fee to sign the player, but it can drop to zero if Kusi-Asare makes a certain number of appearances.

The deal also reportedly includes a €12 million purchase option for Fulham, along with a buyback clause for Bayern.
