Fantasy Bundesliga tips: Strikers to consider for the start of the 2024/25 season

With the new Bundesliga season just around the corner, we are ready to give you a helping hand with your Fantasy Bundesliga team.

In this article, the third of a series of position-by-position player recommendations, we take a look at the midfielders you should have on your radar when building your squad.

Budget options:

Maximilian Breunig, Heidenheim - 1 million
Breunig is probably the only 1 million player with a real chance of starting on Matchday 1. He was handed a start in the DFB-Pokal against Regionalliga side Villingen and repaid the faith placed in him with a hat-trick. After that performance, the striker should have a good chance of keeping his place against St. Pauli this weekend. However, his chances of starting may also depend on how many minutes he plays in Heidenheim's Conference League qualifier against Häcken on Thursday evening.

Leo Scienza, Heidenheim - 6 million
From one new Heidenheim player to another, Leo Scienza could end up being their most important attacking player this season. Expectations are certainly high for the 25-year-old Brazilian trickster, who tore the third division apart as a player for Ulm last season. He's taken over all the set-piece duties following the departure of Jan-Niklas Beste, and is expected to take penalties as well. It's a shame, though, that he's listed as a striker rather than a midfielder.

Junior Adamu, Freiburg - 6 million
Adamu didn't play much in his first season with Freiburg after joining from Salzburg last summer, but it looks like he'll have a much bigger role to play under new coach Julian Schuster than under Christian Streich. After a productive pre-season, the 23-year-old scored a brace in Freiburg's recent DFB-Pokal win over Osnabrück. The downside to picking players from Freiburg at the start of the season is that they have a very difficult schedule, facing Stuttgart and Bayern Munich before the international break.
 

Mid-range options:

Jordan, Union Berlin - 8 million
After a loan spell at Gladbach, Jordan is back at Union Berlin, where he looks set to be the number one striker under Bo Svensson. He should also take penalties, which is obviously always a big plus Fantasy wise.

Marvin Ducksch, Werder Bremen - 10 million
As well as taking penalties, Ducksch also takes corners and free kicks for Werder Bremen, which means he'll get a lot of points that way. Last season, he had a hand in an impressive 22 goals (12 goals, 10 assists).

Andrej Kramaric, Hoffenheim - 10 million
Kramaric plays a similar role to Duscksch for Hoffenheim, although he shares some of the set-piece duties with Anton Stach. A long-time Fantasy favorite, Kramaric scored 15 goals and added six assists last season. He starts the season with a favorable home game against Holstein Kiel, making him one of the top strikers to target.
 

Premium options:

Deniz Undav, Stuttgart - 13 million
After impressing on loan last season, Deniz Undav has moved to Stuttgart on a permanent deal. With the departure of Serhou Guirassy to Borussia Dortmund, Undav could become even more important to them this season, and at 13 million, he costs significantly less than the most expensive strikers in the game.

Lois Openda, RB Leipzig - 15 million
Openda scored 24 goals and laid on seven assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances last season, meaning he was almost involved in a goal every game on average. Still, he's priced much lower than the likes of Kane, Boniface and Guirassy, and even has a very attractive first game against Bochum.

Victor Boniface, Bayer Leverkusen - 18 million
Boniface hit the ground running at Bayer Leverkusen last season and was a major factor in their success in the first half of the campaign, but he then picked up an injury and hasn't hit the same heights since. However, Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso has insisted that the Nigerian international is now back to his best, and he started the season in promising fashion with a goal against Stuttgart in the Supercup before being sacrificed due to Martin Terrier's red card.

Harry Kane, Bayern Munich - 20 million
In a disappointing Bundesliga campaign for Bayern Munich, Kane still managed to find the net 36 times in his first season. With the arrival of Vincent Kompany and a new lease of life at the club, it would be brave to go without Kane.
