Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann recently reiterated that Kai Havertz will be his starting striker at Euro 2024 ahead of Niclas Füllkrug.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Füllkrug shared his thoughts on the substitute role.
“I'm ambitious, every player wants responsibility. But Kai [Havertz] has my full support, I don't begrudge him any of his goals, because they help us move forward. You have to identify with the role - and see it as motivation," Füllkrug told reporters.
“It is good to have different types of strikers. Kai is a completely different type of player, and we have strikers who can play at the top level until the end.
“I scored a good amount of goals, Kai struggled a bit more at the start of the season, but has become one of the most important players at Arsenal. And we both have a healthy level of confidence at the moment. I don't think many teams look forward to playing against our attack.”
Füllkrug has scored 11 goals in 16 matches for Germany.
