German youth international Arrey-Mbi completes lucrative move to Portugal

    A little over a year after purchasing him from FC Bayern München for a reported €500,000, German second division side Hannover 96 have flipped German defender Bright-Arrey Mbi for a handsome profit. The 21-year-old was sold to SC Braga of a reported €6.2 million on Wednesday. The former FC Bayern campus product was finally ablate accrue regular playing time in Lower Saxony and appears to be finally reaching his potential. 

    Bayern themselves - though nowhere near on the scale of the recently completed Joshua Zirkzee deal - have pocketed some cash due the re-sale clause negotiated in the player's transfer last summer. The full details of Arrey-Mbi's sale to the Portuguese club have been divulged. Hannover could potentially collect another €5 million for the Germany U21 international if he continues to thrive and another club pulls his €50 million exit clause. 

    “It was clear that he would sooner or later arouse the interest of other clubs and that it is of course our duty to take a serious look offers of a certain price,” H96 sporting director Marcus Mann noted in a club statement, “Even if it's not easy for us to let a player like him go, we always recognized his potential and have watched his performances improve dramatically.”

    “I didn't take the decision lightly because I really enjoyed playing in Hannover and for 96,” the player himself added in a H96 published statement, “In the end, I decided to take this chance and now take my next step to a club that plays [in the Europa League] internationally.”
