Excitement is building as Jürgen Klopp approaches his debut as Germany head coach against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday.
Making an unannounced appearance in front of the media at the German national team’s training ground on Wednesday, the 59-year-old said that he and the team can feel the anticipation.
“If we didn’t feel it, that would be a little disappointing. I don’t really follow what’s being discussed out there, but we can certainly feel it,” Klopp said.
“The boys are all excited, so we’re definitely feeling a sense of a new beginning,” he added.
The former Liverpool manager is keen to further fuel the enthusiasm among the players through his own commitment.
“I’d go through fire for these boys. If they give everything, I’ll take responsibility for the defeats – no ifs, no buts,” he underlined.
