BK Häcken vs. Heidenheim preview: Team news and predicted lineups

Here is our preview of Thursday's UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier between BK Häcken and FC Heidenheim, including predicted lineups.

An eighth-place finish in their maiden season in the Bundesliga was enough to send FC Heidenheim to Europe, with the German top-flight side set to face Swedish outfit BK Häcken in a play-off for a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Heidenheim have lost their top two attackers from last season, as Tim Kleindienst and Jan-Niklas Beste have joined Gladbach and SL Benfica respectively.

Leo Scienza, Paul Wanner and Maximilian Breunig are among the players who have arrived to try and fill the void, and Frank Schmidt's side made a promising start to the 2024/25 season with a 4-0 win over Regionalliga side FC Vilingen in the DFB-Pokal last week.

They will be hoping for more of the same on Thursday, but will likely face tougher opposition from the Häcken, who secured a third-place finish in the Swedish league in the 2023 campaign.

Häcken, who finished bottom of Bayer Leverkusen's Europa League group last season, have beaten Luxembourg's Dudelange and Estonia's Paide Linnameeskond to qualify for the match against Heidenheim.
