While chatting with 1.FC Köln's in-house interviewers, Timo Hübers told ‘Geissblog’ that he would like to take a new step in his future career.

"I had already thought about this a few years ago. I've always had certain ideas about where I see myself someday.

"That's why I openly say that I'd like to move abroad," the 29-year-old explained during the Effzeh blog piece.

"You have to re-evaluate that every transfer window. Nevertheless, there is little better than playing in the Bundesliga with a club like this.

"I want to keep that with me for as long as possible," he said, while also making it clear that he sees himself continuing Köln for the time being.

Hübers clarified that his complete focus is on the club even though the defender's contract is only valid until next summer.

"We will sit down together at the right time," the central defender explained, regarding his contract situation with the Cathedral club.
