According to Sport BILD, Rasmus Kristensen's season could be over after picking up an injury in Saturday's 3-0 win over Mönchengladbach.

One thing is certain, the right full-back will be sidelined for the foreseeable after he was replaced at half-time by Nnamdi Collins.

"I hope it's just a blow," Frankfurt's new head coach Albert Riera said directly after the match in which the Danish defender was withdrawn.

Kristensen was examined by a specialist on Monday afternoon and it's being reported the 28-year-old sustained a nasty ligament injury.

In the worst-case scenario for Frankfurt, multiple officials reportedly expect him to be sidelined for several months.

If accurate, the news would be a big blow for the Hessen club given he has played in 25 games in all competitions, scoring three goals.
