Bayer Leverkusen and Atlético Madrid are close to reaching an agreement for Alejandro Grimaldo, according to Matteo Moretto.
The transfer journalist reports that a agreement between the two clubs could be reached as early as today, Wednesday.
Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro and sporting managing director Simon Rolfes are reportedly in Madrid for talks after Grimaldo himself gave the green light for the move.
Kicker has reported that Leverkusen initially set an asking price of €30 million for the left-back, but the final fee is expected to be slightly lower.
Grimaldo, who has just one year remaining on his contract, has made no secret of his desire to return to Spain before the end of his career.
